The Return Of The Whistler
 
     Sometimes referred to as "radio's master of mystery," the radio series was heard over the CBS radio network from 05/16/42 to 09/08/55.  Bill Foreman was The Whistler in the radio series.  To see the audio CD's from this series that are available, click here: The Whistler.
 
     This is the eighth and last feature film in the series.  Released on 03/18/1948, the story line is that on the eve of his marriage, Ted Nichols (played by Michael Duane) finds his fiancée has disappeared.  He knows also nothing about her past, but through clues provided by some of her belongings, he soon finds himself entangled in a web of lies, intrigue and murder involving around his fiancée dead ex-husband and his wealthy and corrupt family.
 
     Several other radio types are not credited for this production, such as Wilbur Hatch for the music.  Also not credited is the voice of The Whistler, Otto Forrest.  The story line is by Edward Bock and Maurice Tombragel based on a story by Cornell Woolrich.  Directed by D. Ross Lederman.
