The Big Show

     This variety series was heard over the NBC network from 11/05/50 to 04/20/52 as the last major attempt to turn the television tide back to radio.  The broadcast budget per show was set at $100,000.  Many of the biggest entertainment stars were heard week after week.  Bob Hope, Fred Allen, Ethel Merman, Jimmy Durante, Danny Thomas, Groucho Marx, Fanny Brice, Eddie Cantor, Rudy Vallee, Ed Wynn, Judy Garland and Danny Kaye to name but a few.
