Frontier
Gentleman
- This CBS radio western stars John Dehner as
J.(eremy). B.(ryant) Kendall, Frontier Gentleman.
Kendall was a reporter for The London Times who wrote
colorful accounts of his travels throughout the western United States.
An outstanding and very entertaining series.
This series was the last of the big network programs to air with the
coming of the end of radio. This
is CBS western programming at its best.
The only other program that carries the same dramatic value would
have to be GUNSMOKE. Many of
the CBS actors that we enjoy listening to are heard in this series,
including John McIntire, Jeanette Nolan, Harry Bartell, Jack Moyles,
Lawrence Dobkin, Stacy Harris, Joe Kearns, and Jack Kruschen.
All 40 original and one repeat broadcasts are available here for your
enjoyment. We have also added
to this collection, a rare audition recording with Ben Wright in the title
role. The series was created by
Anthony Ellis. There are several network productions of this series
that are currently not available so AFRS versions are used and are so noted.
